Greyfriars Bobby - Edinburgh, Scotland

Named after the Skye terrier of this name who watched over his master's grave in Greyfriars Kirkyard for many years in the mid-19th century. The story of Bobby might well have been forgotten but for Baroness Burdett-Coutts, who erected a drinking fountain in Candlemaker Row featuring a bronze statue of the dog.
